Dall'Hacking al Cyber Warfare: il "fil rouge" tra mondi, ecosistemi ed attori differenti

Raoul Chiesa, dopo essere stato tra i primi hacker italiani (1986-1995), nel 1997 fonda una delle prime società italiane di «security advisory» vendor-neutral; dal 2012 fonda "Security Brokers", una "cooperativa di cyber esperti" con background molto differenti e complementari. Nel 2000 è uno dei soci fondatori del CLUSIT (Associazione Italiana per la Sicurezza Informatica), dal 2002 è membro del Comitato Direttivo dell'ISECOM e del Board dell'OWASP Italian Chapter, presso il CASD/OSN e membro AIP/OPSI; nel 2013 coordina la sede italiana di APWG.EU (Anti-Phishing Working Group) e nel 2015 è nel Consiglio Direttivo dell’AIIC (Associazione Italiana esperti di Infrastrutture Critiche). Dal 2003 collabora con "UNICRI" (United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute), come ideatore del progetto Hackers Profiling Project, e collabora ancora, da esterno, come "Special Advisor”. Viene chiamato a collaborare nel PSG dal direttore di ENISA (2010-2015) Nello stesso anno entra a far parte del prestigioso Roster of Experts in Cybersecurity dell’ITU, oltre che Subject Matter Expert all’ADETEF (che raduna 9 differenti Ministeri francesi) @ENCYSEC (Enhancing Cyber Security). Dal 2016 Raoul è il punto di contatto presso ECSO (European Organization for Cybersecurity) in rappresentanza di Security Brokers, socio fondatore insieme ad EOS (European Organization for Security) all’interno della stessa ECSO, in PPP con la Commissione Europea. È autore di numerose pubblicazioni, ed ospite in trasmissioni (TV, radio) nazionali ed estere.

Raoul Chiesa, after being among the first Italian hackers (1986-1995), moved to professional InfoSec, establishing back in 1997 the very first vendor-neutral Italian security advisory company; he then left it in 2012, and established “The Security Brokers”, a visionary joined stock company providing niche, cutting-edge security consulting services and solutions. Raoul is among the founder members of CLUSIT (Italian Information Security Association, est. 2000). He is a Board of Directors member at ISECOM, OWASP Italian Chapter, and at the Italian Privacy Observatory (AIP/OPSI); he was a coordinator of the Working Group "Cyber World" at the Center for Defence Higher Studies (CASD) between 2010 and 2013 at the National Security Observatory (OSN) at Italy's MoD. He is a former member of the ENISA Permanent Stakeholders Group, an independent “Special Advisor on Cybercrime and Hacker’s Profiling” at the UN agency UNICRI, and a Member of the Coordination Group and Scientific Committee of APWG European chapter, the Anti-Phishing Working Group, and an Advisor at GCSEC.org. Since July 2015, he is a Board Member at AIIC (on Critical Infrastructures) a SME for ADETEF (different French ministries) at ENCYSEC (Enhancing Cyber Security), a project funded by the EU, and a member of the ITU (UN-Geneva) Roster of Experts on Cybersecurity. Raoul publishes books, white papers and articles worldwide, while being since more than 20 years a worldwide known and appreciated Key Noter and Speaker (newspapers, TV, radio,) when dealing with Information Security issues, incidents and trends

Spesso, quando si parla e si analizzano i fenomeni dell'hacking, del Cybercrime, del Cyber Espionage sino ad arrivare all'Information Warfare, si disegnano scenari ed ecosistemi a sé, totalmente slegati tra di loro, addirittura quasi "segregati" . Nella realtà invece il modus operandi, i tools e le risorse utilizzate sono comuni, quello che cambiano sono le modalità operative e gli approcci, le "regole di ingaggio" ed, ovviamente, gli obiettivi. In questo intervento verrà illustrato quel "fil rouge" che unisce attori così differenti tra loro, uniti da tecnologie ed approcci "inconsapevolmente" comuni.
