Research and Education Networking in the UK: Challenges and Opportunities
Jeremy Sharp is currently the Chief Technology officer for Janet, the UK NREN. He has previously had roles associated with the development of a wide range of network services to support Teaching, Learning and Research in the areas of AAI and Videoconferencing. Jeremy is particularly motivated by seeing how NREN services are used and the difference that these make to research and education globally.

Jeremy will introduce Jisc and the Janet network in the UK. He will describe the reengineering work that's being undertaken to create a unified network architecture, and also some of the security challenges.
