Since the beginning of GARR history, the technical workshop has been an important meeting for experts in networking in the research and education community: an opportunity to receive professional updates and discuss about the trend topics of this domain.

A key topic of the program will be the new GARR-T network, but we will address many other issues together with community experts including the evolution of access infrastructures (LAN), security and identity, integration and support for HPC computing infrastructures, cloud and edge computing, data lakes and many applications and services to support the evolving needs of institutions, researchers, teachers and students.

Francesco Ficarola

Francesco Ficarola ha ricevuto una laurea magistrale ed un dottorato di ricerca in Ingegneria Informatica da Sapienza Università di Roma. Durante il dottorato, è stato anche un collaboratore di ricerca presso la North Carolina State University (USA) per un periodo di 6 mesi. All'inizio del 2016 è stato assunto da Di.Gi. International S.p.A. come Security Expert e Project Manager. A partire da giugno 2017 è Cyber Security Officer presso Sapienza Università di Roma.

Francesco Ficarola received a Bachelor, a Master and a Ph.D in Engineering of Computer Science from Sapienza University of Rome. Furthermore, during his Ph.D., he has been a Visiting Research Scholar at North Carolina State University (USA) for a period of 6 months. At the beginning of 2016 he was hired by DI.GI. International S.p.A. as Security Expert and Project Manager. Starting from June 2017 he has been a Cyber Security Officer at Sapienza University of Rome.
