THE GARR WORKSHOP

Since the beginning of GARR history, the technical workshop has been an important meeting for experts in networking in the research and education community: an opportunity to receive professional updates and discuss about the trend topics of this domain.

A key topic of the program will be the new GARR-T network, but we will address many other issues together with community experts including the evolution of access infrastructures (LAN), security and identity, integration and support for HPC computing infrastructures, cloud and edge computing, data lakes and many applications and services to support the evolving needs of institutions, researchers, teachers and students.

Integrazione e configurazione dell'Identity and Access Manager INDIGO IAM su GARR Cloud Platform

GARR fellow from 2019 to 2021, he is currently a first year PhD student in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Milan with a project entitled "Development and implementation of cloud-oriented bioinformatic tools and workflows". He is one of the developers of the Laniakea project, a platform based on the INDIGO-DataCloud middleware which allows the deployment, either on public and private clouds, of the Galaxy bioinformatics workflow-manager instances. Currently, he is involved in the development of the system back-end and implementing new bioinformatics pipelines on Galaxy.

Integrazione e configurazione dell'Identity and Access Manager INDIGO IAM su GARR Cloud Platform

Integration and configuration of the INDIGO IAM Identity and Access Manager on GARR Cloud Platform

The Laniakea framework facilitates the provisioning of on-demand Galaxy instances over Cloud infrastructures. The INDIGO technology, on which Laniakea is based, allows to federate different Cloud infrastructures to exploit their resources, in a transparent way for the end user. We present here the integration of the AAI INDIGO-IAM service on Cloud GARR, allowing the service Laniakea@ReCaS, hosted at the ReCaS-Bari datacenter, to create Galaxy in the most appropriate Cloud site, taking into account the users and service requests and the resources provided by each instance.
